Hi,

If you want to get a bit geeky, there is a very cool app in the Mac app store
called "Should I Sleep." It allows you to configure how your Mac decides
whether or not to sleep. For example, you can set it not to sleep if you are
downloading or uploading files. You can have it check for the presents of a
face or sounds and not sleep if it sees you sitting at the computer. You can
also check or uncheck a single check box to keep the computer always awake.

The app puts itself in the menu bar and is fully VoiceOver accessible if you
are running Mountain Lion.
