3-finger flick does enable switching pages n ibooks. Or you can use page chooser, as you noted. The advantage to the Kindle app is that there are more books to select from, and prices are usually, but not always, cheaper. I like ibooks because they let you organize your titles in categories. I don't see a way to do that with the Kindle app. The fact that you can read by words or characters in the Kindle app is a plus. I hope Apple fixes the word character line thing in the next ios release.
