Ricardo, I think you have indeed found the problem. Can't lower brightness. I had done that on my iPad right before having the problem of not being able to flick to items on the menu. And I have not done it on the 4S, where the same book's menu does not exhibit this problem. So, now I wonder where to report this bug.
