I assume the first things to do for the switch is to 1) de-authorize any software licenses on the windows bootcamp side, like jaws, MS-Office etc. Also to save any data I want to keep.
2) from the Mac side, eliminate the bootcamp partition via the bootcamp utility 3) purchase and install VMWare latest and greatest and read up on its operation and use. I'm hoping that the single license retail copy of windows7 I used for the bootcamp installation, which I eliminated, will now transfer over and authorize the copy of windows in VMWare. That is, will microsoft have a fit thinking that I'm somehow trying to use a single license on more than one installation? Is there anything I have to do to de-authorize windows7 before wiping the partition so that it'll be usable in VMWare? I tried using a trial version a while back and had problems, and ditched it without giving it a fair shake. But, I know people are using it with great success and I expect I'll be able to work out any problems as well with the help of the list. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
