Hitting the zoom button just depends. Usually, it does! actually make it
the full maximized size. If it doesn't though, as I said, there is another
way to do it which will pretty much guarantee it to be the full maximized
size, but I don't like resorting to that option unless necessary, as
sometimes it can! visually make things look really stretched and a bit
distorted.

You can use full-screen with command-control F for the native apps. Also,
you can go to the Window menu and choose zoom or press the button at the top
of the window.. I'm not quite sure what zooming does, but I'm told that it
doesn't maximize the window the way Windows does. The window isn't as big as
a maximized window.
