Hi, 

One advantage that the HIMS Braille Edge has over all the other devices Les 
mentioned, is that it has a very small built-in file manager and word 
processor.  they aren't very sophisticated, but for instance, you can cary  
braille books (brf or brl files) and you can use the device to take notes or 
write stuff down if you don't have your Mac handy.  It also has a built-in 
calculator.  Again, it's not a fully-featured notetaker, but it does give you 
some functionality if for whatever reason you just want to use the display.
