Alex,
I couldn't find an option for when text changes. There's text attributes, which 
is already set to nothing. There's also status changes which is just set to 
play tone. I'm sure you've correctly diagnosed the problem though.

As I said, ReadKit optionally syncs with a whole range of services. Feed 
Wrangler is just one. You need to sign up with one of those services, but not 
all. Some might be free, I don't know. I've only used Feed Wrangler. What you 
need to do is as follows:
        •       Navigate around with VoiceOver until you find a bunch of 
unlabelled buttons.
        •       Use VO-SHIFT-H to read the help tag on each of these buttons.
        •       When you get to the button the help tag for which is Feed 
Wrangler, you can VO-Space on it.
        •       Enter your Feed Wrangler account details.
        •       Navigate to the far left and VO-Space on the import button, 
which will no longer be dimmed once you've entered your account details.
        •       Have a cup of tea and relax. :)
