Sure, I can clarify alright. Her's the reason for what was happening. There has been a change in IOS7 which allows voice over soudns to be heard even in mute. You need to turn these off either in Settings/General/Accessibility/Voice Over, or, make it easy on yourself and put sounds in your rotar if it's not already there. The actual tone you hear when someone calls you, however, is not heard with mute. HTH.
