Kawal, Some handy pointers on the finger print reader:
Firstly, I strongly recommend you add several fingers to use with the sensor, ones of course that you would typically use to actually press the unlock key are good choices. When you teach the device your finger print remember these two handy tips. Firstly, adjust the orientation of your finger each time you get a positive scan, indicated by a short vibration of the device. For me, I changed the position and orientation of my finger each time it scanned and moved orientation between probably up to 270 degrees or so, meaning that the reader had a good range of samples to get a good overall reading on. Next, be sure to scan your actual finger print, and not the tip of your finger itself. It is tempting to jab at the unlock key, effectively pressing it with more or less the end of your finger, but, this is not your finger print. Try when the phone is scanning your finger to lay your finger out flat, with the nail and tip of your finger pointing towards the top of the device for each scan. This I found dramatically changed the effectiveness of my readers performance. Finally, the reader seems to have a great deal of trouble if you have even slightly damp hands, or, have recently washed your hands and dried them, presumably this is as the drying process has smoothed out your print. I also noted that when I use an alcohol based gel to clean my hands that this destroyed my print for almost a day and the phone would not recognise my prints for almost 24 hours afterwards, however, it did settle down again afterwards.
