HI Cheryl, I think I might have discovered the problem. I was unable to get your method to work at first. I could see the download links in the item chooser, but could not navigate to them. I was also unable to navigate to them using tab or VO-arrow keys. However, I turned off group items within when navigating web tables in the Navigation tab of the Web pane in VoiceOver Preferences, and I can then easily get to the download links by navigating by link. I'm sure once I have navigated to the link that return will allow me to download it, though I didn't try this as I have now downloaded all my books through Google Chrome. I was using Safari 6.0.5.
So it seems that to download audible audiobooks in Safari, one must have the group items within web tables feature disabled in VoiceOver Preferences. I take it you had this setting disabled, Cheryl? Otherwise using tab in Google Chrome works as well, even with group items within web tables enabled.
