No reason to turn cursor tracking off while doing this, at least I don’t have 
to, simply using VO command and enter will select the file. Note the first time 
you select a file it will actually unselect it, so for the first file hit VO 
command enter on it twice then go down to the next file you want and just hit 
VO command enter and you will hear two items selected, you can do this with as 
many files as you want.
