Hi,
oh and I forgot an element, using no earphones whatsoever?
my phone is a phone, I hold it to my ear, I want the speech in my ear etc.
Thanks for your input,
it is not a matter of the computer voices not shutting up. it is a matter of the iphone providing the equal of touch tone information that another system recognizes.
wanted to clarify since this is a 100% deal breaker for me.
I do not want to require an ear piece every time I make one of these calls when working between appointments. equally I do not want my phone talking in a fashion where others can hear.
thanks for the wisdom.
Thoughts?
Karen

Karen, based on what I understand you are saying, you should be able to do it.
I used to have more problems with that, but that got corrected. Now they on
screen keyboard comes up and you can hear VoiceOver while those awful computers
are still talking and won't shut up. I have found it sometimes to be a little
easier to use the earphones, but that's not essential. Like I said, this used
to be a problem, and I think that's why you were told it couldn't be easily
done.

Gigi

Hi folks,
I read often that it is difficult if not impossible to dial in a traditional
way using an iphone.
here is a simple example.
Let's say you are traveling, you must dial a location, then a user number, then
an a password. you then must make a series of choices from a menu.
these choices change based on information presented.
I realize many of you use your iphone for a number of different things.
However, I am asking about this specific task. can it be done often with
changing flexibility and effortlessly?
Thanks,
Karen
