Hey,

I actually had no problem making a FaceTime audio call as I just tested it out. 
The person did tell me the call wasn't that clear, but could have been their 
phone as I heard them just fine. Did notice there were separate buttons for 
FaceTime and FaceTime audio. Hope this helps. There was a few different scroll 
ares that I had to navigate.
