Oh, you can look at your current widgets by pressing VO-f2 twice quickly, and you can add an already-installed widget by right-arrowong into the widget bar and pressing enter on it. The thing that's stumping me is finding the widget manager, which is supposed to be "on the left side of the screen" and unchecking or removing them. I may experiment with mouse keys at some point.
