I'm using Openwrt distribution for my netgear wgt634u and have exactly
this problem when I try to use the included card in client mode with wpa
encryption, no idea how to include a newer version of wpa_supplicant and
madwifi-driver into the souce from https://svn.openwrt.org/openwrt/trunk/
to compile an updated version.
I thought, the problem in [http://madwifi.org/ticket/241] was only with
hostap and rsn...
