Comment (by [EMAIL PROTECTED]):
The wext19_060402.patch should do everything that needs to be done. I
still haven't implemented the "get" ioctls, but all of the "set" ioctls
are there. Any testing folks have done up till now should probably be
considered suspect, but testing done from this point forward hopefully
won't be invalidated by further changes to the patch.
There are a couple of TODOs, still, mostly in places where I don't quite
understand why something works.
I'll work on the TODOs and the get ioctls as time allows, hopefully
they'll be done this week.
If you have trouble with this patch, here are the basic trouble-shooting
steps to follow:
1. Try to get it working without using NetworkManager, by configuring
wpa_supplicant or xsupplicant by hand. (Not that there is anything wrong
with NetworkManager. I ask that you try without NetworkManager because it
is another moving part to try to debug. If you can reproduce th e problem
with the lower level tools it will be easier to understand what is
happening.)
2. Try to get it working using the -D madwifi option to wpa_supplicant
instead of -D wext.
If something doesn't work with either -D madwifi or -D wext, you may have
a configuration problem or a real bug in wpa_supplicant or madwifi. If
something works with -D madwifi but not with -D wext, then that is a
problem with this patch and I'll be very interested in hearing about it.
I suggest using a recent version of wpa_supplicant. You will need to
recompile wpa_supplicant *only* if you are using the -D madwifi option.
If you use -D wext, you should not need to recompile.
