 Hi all

 I just bought a miniPCI IBM/AMBiT wifi card, with a Atheros AR5212
 chipset.

 I can't have it working on my laptop (DELL Inspiron 8500) either under
 linux nor windows (error code 10, event 5001 with ar5211.sys Atheros
 driver for windows XP Pro SP2).

 I am running a Fedora core 4 with kernel 2.6.16-1.2111_FC4

 I have compiled and installed tha atheros drivers through the SVN
 repository :

 {{{
 > svn checkout svn.madwifi.org/trunk madwifi-ng
 > cd madwifi-ng
 > make
 > make install
 }}}

 Everything went all right, and the modules are installed.

 The problem occurs when the module ath_pci is probed :

 {{{
 > modprobe ath_pci
 }}}

 nothing happens and I have this error in dmesg :

 {{{
 ath_hal: 0.9.17.2 (AR5210, AR5211, AR5212, RF5111, RF5112, RF2413, RF5413)
 wlan: 0.8.4.2 (svn r1634)
 ath_rate_sample: 1.2 (svn r1634)
 ath_pci: 0.9.4.5 (svn r1634)
 ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:02:03.0[A] -> Link [LNKB] -> GSI 7 (level, low)
 -> IRQ 7
 wifi%d: unable to attach hardware: 'Hardware self-test failed' (HAL status
 14)
 ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:02:03.0 disabled

 }}}

 lspci says :

 {{{
 02:03.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212 02.11abg
 NIC (rev 01)
 }}}

 I already have read a lot of topics on other web sites but none gave a
 real solution. I hope that someone will have the kindness to answer here
 to explain their solution. I have no other laptop to test the card
 elsewhere.

 Thx,
 Avoghaii, Rennes, France.
 (I can tranlate for french eyes, just ask)
