Well I did an other ping test with debug enabled.
dev.wifi0.debug: 0x80080060<reset,mode,node,fatal> to both machines.
Unfortunately the pentium133 machine hangs so it cannot write any output
to the screen. The AMDK6-300Mhz machine works fine. The last 10 line
output from dmesg is:

The calibrate msg is produced all the time.
