If your suspicion is correct, you should be able to successfully connect
using the [http://snapshots.madwifi.org/madwifi-ng/madwifi-ng-r1710-
20060914.tar.gz r1710 snapshot], while the [http://snapshots.madwifi.org
/madwifi-ng/madwifi-ng-r1711-20060914.tar.gz r1711 snapshot] is behaving
as a showstopper.
Did you recompile wpa_supplicant against the actual MadWifi snapshot when
you switched away from r1708, by the way?
Can you please provide two log dumps from wpa_supplicant, showing
association/authentication results before and after the upgrade to a non-
working snapshot?
