Comment:
I have an Acer Aspire 3680 with kernel version 2.6.17-gentoo-r8 and
madwifi version svn r1747. The bottom of the laptop says it contains an
Atheros AR5BMB5. The output of lspci says its an AR5005G. The
compatibility list shows the AR5BMB5 is supported("Works well with 0.9.2
source version with gentoo-2.6.17-gentoo-r7") and this ticket says the
AR2413 is supported.
When I attempt to use 'modprobe ath_pci', it seems to load the
modules(ath_pci, ath_hal, ath_rate_sample, wlan) but dmesg shows the hal
status 13 error. No wifi%d or ath%d are created at this point. Below are
various code snips for confirmation. Thanks in advance for any help i can
get.
