#1716: Madwifi-ng incorrectly spoofs macaddress, always uses 06: etc

Using the latest madwifi-ng drivers with an AR5418 chipset, changing the
macaddress fails.
These are the exact steps that I use to change the macaddress:
modprobe -r ath_pci --> if it is loaded already
modprobe ath_pci autocreate=none
macchanger -m 00:11:22:33:44:55 wifi0 --> says something about macaddress
updated successfully,
--> if I type ifconfig wifi0, then I get
00:11:22:33:44:55:00:00:00:00:00:00 --> not sure whats up with the
trailing zeros
wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0
then if I type `ifconfig ath0` then I get 06:11:22:33:44:55 as the mac
address. I can successfully associate with my ap; however, the ap reports
that the macaddress is in fact 06:11:22:33:44:55.
** THIS HAS WORKED FOR EVERY MACADDRESS THAT I HAVE TRIED ***
this is with r3114 kernel version 2.6.24-rc5 --> not sure maybe kernel
error? not madwifi-ng?, spoofing macaddress of sky2 works perfectly fine.
