I am another user of the ubiquiti expresscard and I was involved in this hxxp://madwifi.org/ticket/1696 ticket too. sadly it does not help to solve my problems with freezing. Some details: - ubuntu on gutsy - custom kernel Linux rasputin 2.6.23.8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 14 16:25:35 CET 2007 i686 GNU/Linux - gcc-Version 4.1.3 20070929 (prerelease) - madwifi --> latest svn (this morning) I can reproduce the problem with this steps: - wlanconfig ath create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode monitor - ifconfig ath$number up - airodump-ng ath$number exactly at the moment on which I started airodump-ng the system freeze. I do not think it is an aircrack problem, because if I release the card (system then reboots hard automaticly) and put it in immediately again the system hangs on the log on screen ...
