And just to add one more reason to the list of reasons why I would like to
avoid using ndiswrapper with the 32bit or 64bit drivers for this card,
just bring up the card's interface (unconfigured, after loading the
ndiswrapper module with a "ifconfig wlan0 up") and try sniffing the
packets the card will just start spewing sometime..
Imagine my lack of surprise when it started exhibiting the same insecure
behavior you see normally see with wireless cards on Windows; the card
starts sending out probe requests with randomly generated SSID's, among
other unwanted behavior.
See the following links for more detailed explanations (had to obfuscate
the URLs in hex, visit "tinyurl . com / bhzop" to convert from Hex to
ASCII):

is Ubuntu Feisty specific, but the instructions can be tweaked to work on
other Linux systems, and another obfuscated URL, sorry):

Support for the card on 64bit systems from madwifi would really be
appreciated by those of us who are a bit more security conscious.
