 hi,
 i have compiled madwifi-0.9.4 driver for my powerpc board.am able to do
 make and make install for my surrently runing on board kernel
 linux-2.4.25. the wlan module am using is atheroes chip SR5.after i do
 make and make install am able to load modules compiled by modprobe ath_pci
 and am succesfully able to create the ath0 interface and i can see it.
 but when i hit the command iwlist for scanning the access point i get the
 result as shown below and even same for the iwconfig command,and am unable
 to make a ping to the accesspoint i have that is DLINK AP

 {{{
 bash-2.05b# iwlist ap
 lo Interface doesn't have a list of Access Points

 eth0 Interface doesn't have a list of Access Points

 wifi0 Interface doesn't have a list of Access Points

 Warning: Driver for device ath0 has been compiled with version 16
 of Wireless Extension, while this program is using version 13.
 Some things may be broken...

 ath0 No Access Point in range
 }}}

 what could be wrong please do suggest me on this and what to check out for
 to resolve this issue.

Comment:

 There are many possible causes for what you see, such as "modules for
 scanning not loaded" or "diversity setup messed up". The "wireless
 extensions v13 vs. v16" mismatch that is mentioned in the output you've
 pasted might be another case.

 Thus please contact our [wiki:Support regular support channels] first. If
 it turns out that your problems are actually caused by a bug in the
 driver, feel free to reopen the ticket.
