#2070: bad link quality when using madwifi drivers for eee pc ------------------------------------+--------------------------------------- Reporter: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Type: defect Status: new | Priority: major Component: madwifi: driver | Version: Keywords: | Patch_attached: 0 ------------------------------------+--------------------------------------- When I use the madwifi driver (madwifi-nr-r3366+ar5007.tar.gz) on my eee 900 the wifi range and link quality are incredibly weak. Sitting three feet away from my router iwconfig reports the link quality to be around 40/70. I have observed similar performance problems when working at several other routers. At first I thought my wifi card might be defective, but other people on the eee forum also seem to have this problem. When I installed the windows xp driver with ndiswrapper the link quality and range improved significantly. I had windows xp installed on the machine for a short period of time and the wireless performance was on par with when I had been using ndiswrapper. I use ubuntu, but I have had the same issue with different distributions using the madwifi driver.
