 Actually, kernel updates don't actually break the drivers.
 if a kernel/driver update messes up your connection do this:

 rmmod ath_pci
 rmmod ath_hal

 cd <madwifi_source_tree>
 make install

 shutdown -r now


 And upon reboot it will work again.
 i've tried rmmod then modprobe ath_pci after running make install, but it
 doesn't do it. the actual kernel module is only fully unloaded upon
 reboot, i think.

 You don't need to clean and do a full recompile each time, just re-install
 the already built madwifi drivers, hence "make install" is all you need to
 do.

 Thanks again for great drivers, guys. and i hope this helps everyone who
 lost their connections with this week's kernel patches.
