In fact, I'd argue the sign of an active and healthy community is how
well people get along *not* discussing the stuff that's relevant.

Anyway, I think IRC activity should be counted: it's easy to spam, of
course, but to do it enough to affect your karma materially (using
0.002 points per line makes it fairly ineffective) you'd have to be
awfully desparate.
