Don't think in terms of just the front page. :) The wiki, for instance, has quite a bit of content. Static layouts are bad. Period. I'm with Jaffa 100% here, a fluid layout is required. Preferably one that's as fluid as it can possibly be. For example: http://liqbase.garage.maemo.org/working/ Play with the text size, play with the window size.
