Hi there, I've just finished compiling and packaging JamVM for the 770, console java apps work relly fine, however the GTK-AWT-Peers have some serious problems like: - Crash when creating JFrame's (however adding JComponents to a Frame works) - Frames are not displayed in the "taskbar" (easy to fix) - Many AWT components don't work, therefor I only tested Swing based ones. - Invalidated (by Maemo-menus) regions aren't updated.
However when you actually get a running combination of Swing and AWT components it looks really impressive with LayoutManagers, Tables and far more working, even events are delivered the right way through the touchpad! Startup for Swing applications very slow as you can imaging (15s). For now a x-terminal is needed to start it, its located in /var/lib/install/jamvm-1.33/bin/jamvm If you're interrested in playing a bit arround with it, I uploaded it to http://home.pages.at/talk4c/JamVM770-1.33.deb Have a lot of fun, lg Clemens _______________________________________________ maemo-developers mailing list [email protected] https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-developers
