I was wondering if anyone could shed more light on the hardware issue
regarding the dead pressure zone on the right side of some N800's. Mine
has been gradually deteriorating to the point that I now have to apply a
lot of force to the screen to get the right scroll bar to even move.

This seems to be a larger issue than just one or two units exhibiting
the same type of defect.

As mentioned in the ITT post, this topic has been discussed in this
newsgroup[1] suggesting it is a known hardware fault and there is also a
bugzilla entry[2], but with no comment from Nokia (how odd).
Owners are attempting to obtain an official response from Nokia customer
support before returning their devices as defective - the last thing we want is
a refurbished but still faulty replacement.
The lack of any official response from Nokia is unimpressive to say the least.
I'm sure none of us want to step it up and demand satisfaction, but unless
Nokia begin to acknowledge the fault it may have to come to that. :(
