Again, I really thinkg the basic functionality of a .install file is a good thing and doesn't contradict Debian practices at all. The ability to easily add repositories should not be needed in a Debian-like system, but for us it was pretty much necessary to survive in the beginning. We (Nokia) couldn't have done the right things when IT OS 2006 came out.
