tell (which mean that they can appear in several categories).

are you sure ? i think that on the installer this is based on "Group" too

That's exactly what I meant :)
That existed for a number of releases; I used to always use it. (Maybe it still does ?)
But I didn't know how it worked.
If multiple rpm groups aren't feasable, I think that adding tags would be a good idea. And allowing searching within an rpm group (which could only have packages in subgroups) and/or tags. e.g., if a development-oriented package is wanted, related to sound, one could choose the development group with tag sound. There wouldn't be any packages directly in development, but in development subgroups.
