Yes, it's a variation of Chinese, used in Taiwan. Like the different
variations of Portoguese spoken in Portugal (-pt) and Brazil (-pt_br)
I think, officially it's called traditional vs. simplified chinese. But
don't ask me which one is which...

Traditional Chinese is used in Taiwan, while the Simplified is used in
China.
