Have you tried to configure apt to use unstable? It looks like there
is an IM v 6.2.4.5-0.8 for install there.

Thanks for the info. I wasnt aware that unstable had a newer version. I will do this myself.

But rather than "configure apt to use unstable" I think I would do a one-time grab of the IM package. Or do a temporary config change then change it back. If someone is using dselect or any fast commands for staying upgraded you wouldnt want test or unstable upgrades on your other packages.
