There has been some recent bugs reported and hopefully looked at.

I segest you download the very latest IM and try again, then pass the
problem and the test image to Cristy.

The real problem is the person who programmed the XCF interface has left
the project, and we have no guide on exactly how to handle XCF format.

XCF module seems to return masks rather than transparent images
for some of the higher largers.

Remember XCF is a multi image format.
