That's it, thank you. As far as I can see, the conversion from vector EPS gives much better results than using SVG as a starting point.

You are right in regard to the lack of an alpha channel in GIF pictures, PNG is the preferable format. However, I don't see how I generate an alpha channel and set it to the luminance level, for instance.

Using the command line above without a color option gives an 48bit RGB image as far as I see. I will probably have to use some '-colorspace' option (?).

If I would have an alpha channel, I would set it with:

convert Logo.png -channel Alpha -fx 'luninosity' Alpha.png

Is this correct?
