I suppose that by 'shrink' you mean 'reducing the file size'. Several things come to my mind: 1. Since you set '+dither', I'm wondering what the original image is like. I would use this option only if the image is a photo or something like this. For 'flat' colors, I wouldn't use dithering, since this a) increases the file size, and b) it may result in noise in large monochrome areas. And: If the images are photos, etc., I would rather recommend using JPEG, since PNG compresses 'flat' images best. 2. (Not quite sure how or where to specify the respective option): PNG has the option to use one of five filters for compression: none|sub|up|average|paeth (see under 'compress' in the IM manual). The option 'filter-type' is mentioned there, but I'm not sure what this is referring to. (I could only find the option '-filter' under 'compress'.) More on the filter types can be found on the PNG web site (http://www.libpng/pub/png/), or at the W3C web site (URL see under '-compress' in the manual).
