Hmmm, I don't know if that is the case this time. I googled "libjpeg development package," and it doesn't seem to bring up many relevant results, besides a few Debian-specific results. The libjpeg.a static library has always been enough for me in the past, thats why I'm really frustrated that it isn't recognizing it now.
