I am trying to generate Group 4 compressed images using Red Hat Linux Enterprise Linux 5 and ImageMagick version 6.2.8.
These images are for use on Windows XP. Using IrFanView and the Microsoft Office Document Imaging tools, the compression for the converted files is identified as Macintosh Packbits rather than Group 4 Fax Encoding. I'm using: convert -compress Group4 -density 300x300 - plus additional arguments. Any assistance with this would be appreciated.
