IMHO doing this is just common sense. The current design wich applies
magit-mode to almost every buffer brings no significant advantages and
is an incovenience for implementing new features.

I'm not very convinced that this is a good long-term solution. Phil's
proposal about using prefix keys ('l l' for short log, 'l L' for long
log, etc) looks much better on terms of expandability, logical
consistence, etc
