(Re-sending this, since my original reply went to Yann only -- can we change the "reply-to" setting for the list please?) It's not quite that simple: setting magit-process-connection-type was indeed a viable solution until a few days ago, but since then I have also found that the HEAD version of Emacs hangs when magit pipes text to a git process (e.g. upon committing, or staging a hunk). Very curious. -Steve
