Update on this: Robert noticed that JQPlot hasn't been updated in a while, and does not seem to be an active project any longer. So on further research he's decided to go with ChartJS instead.
Another strong recommendation was D3.js, but in the end we decided that D3 would probably be overkill for us. All that we generate currently in Mahara, is line graphs and bar graphs, whereas D3 is a powerful data visualization tool.
