You can already embed any iframe into a text box as long as the iframe has been added to your "Allowed iframe sources" http://manual.mahara.org/en/17.04/administration/extensions.html #allowed-iframe-sources (YouTube works out of the box for example). "Embed" and "object" should still work as well. though I haven't seen any lately to try out. We have a feature wish open to make the pasting of iframe code easier in TinyMCE. We haven't yet looked into an enhancement of tinyMCE similar to what Moodle offered / offers where you can connect to YouTube or other external repositories directly rather than needing embed code.
