In Moodle this function is integrated with a "plugin" named RecordRTC that is integrated in the moodle core. It is plugin for the ATTO-Editor but there is also a version vor TinyMCE. Maybe there is an easy way to copy this to the maharacode?

As in moodle there is the plugins poodll that allows for direct recording of audio/video within tinyMCE. This add a very nice feeling to a forum to be able to speak and have audio.
