How uptodate is your platform SDK? I had an original '98 version of 6.0, added
sp5 and still needed to get the current SDK disk for it to compile. For me,
months ago now, it was complaining about SSL related stuff but maybe your
version is not being recognised for some reason? You can download the current
SDK if you have the time / bandwidth or get a CDROM of it sent from MS's
contractor for like USD16 or so. Just google for Microsoft platform SDK for
details. Have you applied all the SP's for your compiler version?

In theory, any version. In theory ;-)

I have only been working on it in Linux with 3.2 and now 3.3.2. Also, if you
just cancel on the Python project file, it should build a version with no
python support - Python is not mandatory for a successful compile.
