 So it's definitely the same bug... There is something very wrong in my
update logic and it gets broken with various unpleasant results when IMAP
server reply arrives "unexpectedly". This is a classical trap of
programming with IMAP but the trouble is that I went through the code a
dozen times already and didn't find anything wrong (but it's so complicated
that it doesn't mean much...).

 Please try to reproduce it and send the protocol logs, thanks,
