now that i think about it, this is fairly unsatisfactory from a software
design point of view; there really should be a generic
set_spamtotals rather than a driver specific one. i don't see one in
the source code; i'll pester jonathan about it.

i'd go ahead and use the sqlite call for now, but be prepared to
change it for 0.68.
