Dear Mahogany and users- I was pointed to this program and it looks very good. I like the point that you are not reinventing the wheel and considering compatibility. I am new to Linux and it amazes me the attitude that one can just wipe away the addresses or data a Windows user has accumulated and people will go along with it. To have a program that spans Linux and Windows, with the same interface and accepts files from both is great.
I saw in this version that you are supporting SSL using the OpenSSL libraries. Might I make a suggestion? I and a few others are involved with cryptographic experiments and we use Open SSL to create our own X.509 digital certificates for use in various crypt applications. One of them is using S/MIME in Netscape/Outlook/OE for email encryption. The only mail program I have seen on Linux that uses S/MIME is Netscape, and I hate its interface. Now one of the cardinal rules for cryptographic utilities is that an open source code is preferred so it can be checked for errors. As you are open source, use OpenSSL, and have a great email program that strives to be interchangeable across platforms, including S/MIME capability would really be an enhancement. Especially as Linux moves off the hobbyists' desks to business. Due to the key automatic key management features of S/MIME, its a favorite of business. Thanks for a great program. Yours- Ridge Cook _______________________________________________ Mahogany-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mahogany-users
