I'd prefer a "process when attaching" feature. (Popup after OK in the
insert-file dialog (Maybe even a context sensitive, comparable to mc's F2-menu) ?
Examples:
process inserted file:
G gzip
B bzip2
Z zip
I image conversion (convert)
R recode
L LaTeX->PS
P LaTeX->PDF
Space specify command (type any filter command)
Enter Leave as is
The cost would be an additional Enter press for every unprocessed
Attachment/Inclusion. The advantage would be that I cannot by accident
compress the whole message when I forget to select an attachment.

See above. (Some options (recode, image conversion) would require additional
user input about the desired output format)
