But I still think that autocollecting addresses is useful - it has already been handy a few times for me when I had to write to someone I never thought I'd have to write to and it was enough to enter his name in Mahogany instead of spending a long time searching for the right address somewhere. I think one solution to the problem of ambiguous expansion would be to not consider the autocollected addresses at all if there was a match in the other address books. Another one would be this my "always use this for expansion" checkbox but I still have no idea about how to implement it (i.e. what exactly should it do). Ideally I'd like it to read my thoughts but I'm not sure I can find a freely available C++ library implementing this, unfortunately. This is why I want to highlight the email addresses in the message view. Then you'd be able to right click them and do "Reply to" or "Add to address book". The advantage of adding these items to the folder view menu is that it would allow you to do it with several messages at once but I don't think this is very useful in practice and the advantage of the menu in the message view is that it's much more clear from the UI point of view IMHO (when you see an underlined address you just want to right click it, right?).
